The campus admit rate averages every major together. The one your student picks can be a different school entirely.
Maya is a sample student — a senior at Mission San Jose High with a 3.9, torn between Computer Science and Data Science. Her report reads both majors against the UCs and Cal States, campus by campus, with her own odds at each. Your student’s is built the same way, from their own school, GPA and majors.

Pick a major. Every dot is a California campus that publishes an admit rate for it — last fall, on one line. Which dot is which campus, and your student’s odds at each, are in the full report.
Where a campus publishes by major, you get the major. Where it publishes by college or broad discipline — most UCs — you get that, and the row says which.

Each figure is a campus’s own publication: UCLA’s first-year profile by major, UC Berkeley’s admissions dashboard, the UC Information Center’s Freshman admission by discipline, the CSU’s Applications and Admissions by Discipline, the research offices of San Diego State, San José State, Cal State Long Beach, CSUN, Cal State LA, Sacramento State, Cal Poly Humboldt and Cal State Fullerton, each campus’s impaction results, LMU’s institutional research and USF’s nursing admissions page.
UC counts an applicant under the major they proposed, and says major choice is generally not a factor in freshman admission outside programs that admit by major. CSU application counts include withdrawn or incomplete applications, so each major is compared with its own campus’s rate from the same file.
Their high school, their GPA, and their first- and second-choice majors. Upload a transcript later if you like and the GPA is recomputed the way UC and Cal State compute it.

Undecided is a real answer, and several campuses publish it as its own pool. Put down the two fields they’re weighing and the report shows which one each campus reads more kindly. Change the majors and rebuild as often as you like.
Because that’s as far as the campus publishes. UC San Diego reports first-year admission by broad discipline, so that’s the number we show, labelled as such. We never estimate a major-level rate a campus hasn’t published.
We checked every California private. Only Loyola Marymount (by major) and the University of San Francisco (Nursing) publish anything below the campus rate.
